Fall 2023 View online

This drawing of a tadpole person was made in the mid-2000s, by Claire Chambers and preserved by her mother for twenty years. It is made with felt pen on 20 x 15 cm green construction paper.

It is one of the 150 new items that we will make available online in the coming days, and included in the Gisele Dallaire Fonds.

Many cartoon and children’s book characters are inspired by tadpole people. You probably know many of them, but never realized how influential preschoolers have been on their emergence and popularity. Look out for Claire's take on Little Miss Sunshine, by Roger Hargreaves, also available online real soon.

A COLLABORATIVE EXHIBITION IN 2024

We team up with the Guelph University Child Care and Learning Centre (CCLC) for a community exhibition in 2024, at their facilities.

While the CCLC has presented exhibitions in the past, this will be our first collaboration on such an exciting event. We are in the early stages of planning and will share more as the project evolves.

SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

We recently released our sponsorship package. No business is too small or too big to sponsor our programs, so please have a look at the many ways to connect with new audiences with us.

We opted for three sponsorship levels for each of our program areas, and we can also personalize the sponsorship to a sponsor's audience needs.

Both online, and downloadable PDF formats are available. Please pass on the link to your business leaders on our behalf.

MEET OUR YOUTUBE VOLUNTEER

If you still have art from your childhood or teens, our new Youtube volunteer is looking to interview you. Taran is based in the United States, and will meet you on Zoom for about 30 minutes. The recorded interview only takes 5-8 minutes.

The activity is meant to encourage families to preserve these precious objects, and prevent their disappearance.

You will share the image you have saved, its story, how it was preserved, and how you feel about it. We welcome interviewees from all backgrounds and walks of life. A broadcast release form will be provided. Simply email Taran at info@cdic-cide.org.

FUNDRAISING STRATEGY IN THE TOOLBOX

This month, we completed a first project under the guidance of Chezuba, a volunteering platform which helps with recruiting, but also with providing sound managerial advices.

For this project, Neha Panchal acted as our Volunteer Fundraising Strategist. In consultation with our directors, and by conducting research, she produced an informed and detailed plan that will guide us in our fundraising efforts. The plan provides clear priorities to tackle, and takes into consideration our immense potential as a young and globally minded volunteer organization.

Neha is based in India. She lived and worked in the United States and, from what we’ve heard she will be living in Canada before long.
