Participants of the Lives in Verses project met for a last session on June 25th. Project leader Lya Oliveira had invited Léo Beaulieu, who took a moment to thank and congratulate everyone involved since September last year. Parents were also present and here is what some of them had to say...
“The project awakened in the children the creativity that every child should possess and enjoy! It offered more than just fun; it created unforgettable moments.” - (Mãe Ana Angélica)
“This project really sharpened my daughter's creativity and sparked a greater interest in reading and creative writing, enriching the way she constructs her own texts in terms of both format and detail.” - (Mãe Elaine)
“It positively impacted the lives of our children by fostering creativity, imagination, and a love for reading and writing. Through poetry, the children were able to express their feelings, build confidence in their own ideas, and appreciate Brazilian culture. Furthermore, the project provided moments of learning, emotion, and pride in the work they produced.” - (Mãe Ana Clara)
The group of volunteers that made this poetry project possible will meet and assess the result later this summer.
Some 70 poems in Portuguese and accompanying drawings are posted on the project's webpage.
